Helpston Parish Council
Serving the people of Helpston
Welcome to Helpston
Nestled on the edge of the Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire border, Helpston is a historic rural village with a strong sense of community, deep cultural roots, and a proud connection to England’s literary heritage — including its association with the poet John Clare. With a population of around 1,250, Helpston combines the charm of countryside living with easy access to nearby market towns and the cathedral city of Peterborough.
Whether you are a new resident, a visitor, or simply curious about village life, Helpston offers a warm welcome, a rich history, and a vibrant, evolving community.
Helpston Parish Council exists to represent the interests of residents, protect the character of the village, and support the well-being of the community. We work with Peterborough City Council and a wide range of partner organisations to ensure that local voices are heard and local issues are addressed.
This website is designed to make it easier for residents to find information, access Council documents, contact the Clerk, and keep up to date with what is happening in the village.
Together, we are shaping the future of Helpston — respecting its past, responding to the present, and planning responsibly for the future.
Fix My Street
Fix My Street lets Peterborough residents log and view local street issues (potholes, dumping, bin problems), map their location, and track council responses.
